Zusammenfassung (Englisch)

Business process models are nearly omnipresent in modern enterprises. A lot of researchers are attempting to include stakeholders during all phases of the business process lifecycle, as they possess valuable expert knowledge which is often hard to externalise. This thesis examines the later phases of the design lifecycle, namely the validation of business process model. A tool has been developed for purpose of business process elaboration, which potentially can be used by stakeholders to validate business process models, without requiring external facilitators. This thesis examines this possibility by analysing the theoretical validation capabilities of this tool. An empirical study is subsequently designed and conducted to further assess the possibility to validate business process models with the sole participants of the validation session being domain experts, who are not usually assumed to possess knowledge about business process modelling.
