Skills of employees to master digitalization [2.41 mb]
Abstract (English)

This master thesis deals with skills employees need in order to handle a digitized professional life. It therefore aims at the development of a skill profile to master digitalization. This skill profile offers benefits for businesses, educational institutions, and individuals. The skill profile creates the possibility to train people in these areas and thus equip them for a digitized working environment. First, skills are identified using a structured literature review. Second, applying a qualitative research process, semi-structured expert interviews for identifying skills that are needed to fulfill the tasks employees are facing in a digitized job market are conducted. Thereby skills identified in literature (step one) are validated as well. Third, all empirical and theoretical results are consolidated to finally derive a skill profile differentiating core skills and specific skills.
